For troubleshooting purposes, secondhand sales, or simply clearing your tracks and dog list before a new season, you may find the need to perform a factory reset on your Garmin Alpha 300/300i or Garmin Alpha 200/200i handheld. This can be done easily with a simple button sequence.

With the handheld powered OFF, press and hold the top and bottom buttons on the right hand side of the handheld (The topmost (Training up) button and the lowermost textured (Training Enter) button).

While holding the two buttons on the right side, power on the unit by pressing and releasing the power button.

The 2 buttons on the right side can then be released when the below screen to appears.

Note that a master reset will clear your Dog List, downloaded maps, and remove all tracks, waypoints and subscription logins.

At this point you'll select, Erase.

Your Alpha handheld is now reset. You will need to resync your collar devices, re-enter your InReach subscription, and other personal settings. Please ensure that you allow the handheld 20mins in clear view of the sky to reconnect and sync with GPS Satellites.
