Begin by downloading Garmin's free BaseCamp program. You can follow this link to the download page.
Transferring Data
You can transfer waypoints, contacts, and tracks between units. Connect both of your devices via a compatible USB data cable and open Garmin BaseCamp.
Your two units should populate in the Devices sidebar to the left side of your screen.
Once your units are recognized by your PC, You can simply drag and drop the data files from one unit to the other.
Tools
You can measure distances, view land ownership, and plan routes using BaseCamp as well using some handy tools at your disposal.
Pressing the H key or selecting the Pan function allows you to move your map around by clicking and dragging your mouse.

Pressing the D key or the Ruler icon will assist you in measuring the distance between two points.

Zoom in and out with the Magnifying Glass, Z key, or Mouse Wheel.

Use the W key or Waypoint icon to mark points of interest.

When purchasing a brand new Garmin Alpha Tracking System, each unit comes standard with a year of Garmin Birdseye. This service allows users to make satellite maps of preferred hunting areas. The B key or BirdsEye tab brings up your BirdsEye menu. From here, you can change the size, shape, and quality of any BirdsEye images you wish to download and save to your device.

Use Ctrl+T to locate coordinates and recenter your map, or place a waypoint.

If you have a compatible Garmin device with mapping installed, you can view more advanced information such as land ownership and boundaries.

BaseStation
BaseStation Mode on your handheld allows you to implement a Windows-based laptop or tablet in a truck to track dogs on a larger screen. To enable BaseStation on your Garmin 200i unit and continue to track with the data cable inserted go to:

On an Alpha 100:

When a compatible data cable is inserted, your Alpha unit will prompt you asking if you wish to enable BaseStation mode, or enter data transfer mode. If you wish to transfer files and waypoints, enter data transfer mode, indicated by the USB symbol and the Garmin logo. If you wish to continue live tracking with your unit, enter BaseStation mode.
