Currently, trading in used gear might get you the kind of deal you would get if you wanted to sell a tracking system altogether rather than trade for new items. Remember, this won't always be the case, so if you're preparing to make a trade in the future, it might be a good idea to make sure your items pass an inspection before sending them all the way in to Double U. You must give us a call at 855-384-8687 prior to sending your gear. One of our reps can give you an approximate quote on the value of your items and set up a service ticket to have your trade processed.
Remember, your trade-in gear must include chargers, and has to be Re-sellable and in decent, working condition for full trade credit. A good rule of thumb before sending something in on trade is to ask yourself; Would you purchase your own used gear in its condition?
Here's what we're looking for on any inspection for trade-in items.
What is NOT Acceptable?
Dry Rot
Both of these collars have dry rot on the rubber strap that connects to the battery box and therefore we cannot accept this on trade. The collar on the left hand side has a more severe case than the one on the right, however both collars still have the issue.
How to check for Dry Rot:
Remove your collar strap and bend the rubber strap downwards (away from the battery box) to reveal if there is any dry rot on the collar. If you're unsure, you can always send a few photos to our email and we can help.
Water Damage
A collar with water damage is considered broken and may have unseen issues or corrosion forming. If you are missing any screws, there is likely water damage to the collar
Severe Damage to the Battery Box
Damage to the battery box is inevitable, however any penetrating holes that pierce the battery box and expose the motherboard/battery to rust and corrosion will not be taken. Similarly, a cracked collar broken in other spots may experience internal damage and therefore will be denied.
Broken Charging Port
Handhelds that have broken charging ports will not be accepted on trade. The handheld on the left is an example of a broken charging port and the handheld on the right is how the port should look.
Handhelds
We will not be accepting handhelds with holes in any of the buttons, missing pixels on the screen, black spots on the screen, or large dents in the screen.
What is Acceptable
Surface Damage
Scratches/Wear on the Battery box is ok, and most likely will not result in a deduction in trade value.
Easily Removable Writing
If you have names/phone numbers/any personal information that can be easily removed, you won't lose any value. Please remove any information before sending your collars in if possible. If there are engravings in the box, the value will go down due to the fact that the battery box will need to be replaced.
Handhelds
Scuff marks on the rubber or small scratches on the screen will likely lower your trade value, but as long as it's cosmetic we are still able to accept these.
As always, make sure to give us a call at 855-384-8687 before you send in your items and if you're ever unsure about the condition you can always send us a photo of your gear to our email address.
