To change the Dog Type on the Garmin Astro 430, follow these steps:
  1. Go to main menu
  2. Select Dog List
  3. Select which Dog/Collar you would like to change the Dog Type on
  4. Select Show Info
  5. This will bring to you to the collar info screen, at this point press the menu button.
  6. Scroll down and select Change Dog Type, this will allow you to either select Auto, Tree Dog, Pointing Dog, or No Alerts.
You will want to select which ever type of dog your are hunting, whether it be a hound or other trailing breed or a bird dog/pointing breed.
